The service

MateLoop is an Australian marketplace and community for pets, pet supplies, and related services. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings and for complying with local laws and animal welfare rules.

Accounts

• You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or harm other users.

Listings and messaging

• Do not post illegal, misleading, or harmful content.
• Do not harass other members or misuse messaging.
• We may remove content that violates our policies.

Reptiles, birds and native wildlife

• Many reptiles and native birds can only be kept, bought or sold with a state or territory wildlife licence. Sellers must enter their keeper or dealer licence number, or confirm the species is licence-exempt in their state where that is allowed.
• MateLoop does not check or verify licence numbers. Buyers and sellers are each responsible for holding the right licence and following the rules of their own state, including movement and transfer permits.
• Only captive-bred animals may be listed. Wild-caught animals, eggs, and exotic species that are illegal in Australia (for example ball pythons, corn snakes and iguanas) are not allowed.
• Reptile listings cannot be sold in Tasmania through MateLoop. Western Australian sellers must follow the WA Pet Keeping List and fauna transfer requirements.
• Live reptiles must not be sent by Australia Post or shipped internationally. Reptile listings are contact-only: MateLoop does not take payment for the animal.
• We may remove listings and suspend accounts that appear to break wildlife laws, and we may share information with wildlife authorities when required by law. You can report a listing using “Illegal wildlife / no licence”.

Payments

Where payments or fees apply, they are processed by our payment providers under their terms. Platform fees (if any) will be shown before you confirm.
